Officiating the Morning Office: Training for Lay Leaders

The Rev. Benjamin George-Thoms will lead two Zoom sessions on August 21 and 28, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, focused on officiating the Morning Office for Sunday worship.
Designed for lay members seeking licensing as Worship Leaders—with the approval of their clergy or ecclesiastical authority—these sessions will provide practical training on leading Morning Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer. Participants will learn where to find the relevant portions within the BCP, how to structure and lead the service effectively, and how to adapt the liturgy to their specific local context.
In addition, Fr. Ben will introduce helpful digital tools for preparing orders of service, accessing lectionary readings and liturgical calendars, and other resources to support lay-led worship.
